Compassionate and Courageous Celebrants of the Sacrament of Life.

I thank all of you who commented so thoughtfully on the Soul Nugget from yesterday: Girl Inspired. This is Girl Inspired: Part 2.

“Today we stand before eaca=h other and our God and claim our names. We give witness to that which God wants for all people, a voice, a future, a name that lets us claim who we are. Today we stand before our Lord who loves us, values us, and invites us to speak aloud our dreams. I ask each of you to now say loudly, clearly, and boldly YOUR NAME – not once but three times.”

All the young girls did exactly this and it was wonderful, exhilarating, powerful to feel the energy of these girls confidently and boldly shouting out their names three times – holy boldness! Boys do this all the time. Just look at the huddle in a football game. It felt so right watching these young girls connecting with their inner authority and personal power. This is something that all young girls deserve. YES!!

This sense of hope and strength and personal power is something to behold. It is promising for our culture. Other cultures are painfully different. In Nigeria, more than 200 girls were kidnapped and sold as shared wives among Boko Haram militants, all done in the name of Allah. In other places, the men do not want girls to be educated and young girls risk their lives in seeking education.

We know that “mild mannered women seldom make history.”

Below is a song that is perfect for inspiring young girls to become powerful women, to make history in their own way. You might want to share this with your daughters and grand-daughters. BRAVE! BRAVE!

This other song below was suggested by a friend on the Eastern Shore of VA who told me that her father, an Episcopal Priest, loved the song and sang it often – so may we all. Not the energy – the spirit – the call to freedom. Many of you have memories of this song which go back to the 1970s. This song was chosen by the United Nations in 2011 to uplift and honor women all around the world.

“Feminism is the radical notion that women are people.”

May we all be conscious, compassionate, courageous – Dare to live your life with holy boldness.

We are all sparks of the Divine flame
Blessed Be
Compassionate Be
Boldly Be
